I got Chronos from a shelter here in Ft. Lupton Colorado, who rescues native reservation dogs (rez dogs). They aren't sure what mix he is. They first told me shepherd mix. When I saw him and asked more they said they honestly have no idea since it was basically a stray on the Rez. My best guess is it looks like he has some type of mountain cur or tree Tennessee Brindle. Maybe some lab. They estimated him to be 16 weeks and weighed him at 27 lbs I measured him today and from butt to chest he is 22 inches, from butt to nose about 29 inches. The top of his shoulders stand about 18-19 inches tall. He is either really active or super chill but I guess that's a pup for ya. Big deep bark for 4 months and these golden orange eyes that are bright. I attached a few pictures. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I was thinking of maybe getting a dna test at some point.

Hi. Welcome to the forum.

Those ears look beagle-y to me. So maybe beagle x bull breed or beagle x mastive?

Gosh he is a mystery to me. He has so many traits that could be multiple breeds. I wouldn't be surprised if he had at least 4 breeds maybe more in him.

In the last photo his tail looks super long. Is it that long or is it just a trick of the camera?

With the additional photos, his tail looks long like a shepherd's - down to his lower leg.

I think he looks hound more than anything. His face and his long lean body and tall legs. The color is what I think suggests bully breed, but that could come from another breed - even greyhound.

Your dog looks very similar to mine. Mine is named Scout, she’s a year old. She has some white on her chest and paws.

Our rescue told us Plott hound mix. Plott’s are brindle.

But I’m starting to think she’s a Catahoula mix, maybe with Plott or Tennessee Brindle.

I’ll attach a picture of my pup, a Catahoula, and another picture of my pup. I think her face shape looks so Catahoula, they can be brindle. I also see lab in her sometimes.

I don't know if you are still on here but I swear your dog is like a copy and pasted version of my dog! He had the same head wrinkles as my dog when he was little. We believe he may be a mix with some Chesapeake bay and treeing Tennessee brindle but we are also still trying to figure it out. He has a lean build and is also very tall. He is INSANELY smart and can be stubborn. He also loves water and is very loud and playful. He is really easy to train as well. These are from when we first got him and he was a puppy. We've had him for around a year now! I hope this helps a little :)

Hi from upstate New York. Last year I adopted Rocket, a spunky little rescue from Vicksburg, Mississippi. The rescue group called him a Mountain Cur mix, but after scouting around online, Rocket looks just like a Tennessee Brindle. He's now grown up to about 35 pounds, honey-brown eyes, high prey drive, with a howling bark. As you can see, Embark has no idea what he is (rat terrier? Save your money, since Embark doesn't test for TTBs), so I'm just gonna call it like I see it - Rocket is a fine example of the Tennessee Brindle.
