My 5 year old chihuahua has a boil/lump on his upper lip. It has been there for about 3 days. I am planning on bringing him to the vet this week, but wanted to get some opinions in the meantime. It wasn't there Thursday morning when I left for work but when I came home it was there. It hasn't changed in size at all.

Other conditions my dog has - chronic bladder stones and liver shunt. He had a urethrosectomy in Oct 2011.

It could be almost anything so let your vet sample it when you go. Biggest concern would be mast cell tumor but no way to tell by the picture.

Your poor guy has been through so much in his little life!

My dog has the exact same thing on her lip. I've been watching it for the past few days and it doesn't seem to have changed. I realise this post is from some time ago, but is there any chance you remember what it was and if it required treatment or was simply left to resolve itself?
