Hello everyone!

Just got my dog a few weeks ago and I was wondering what the best method of controlling fleas (and ticks, though its not a huge problem where I live) beyond bathing him with flea shampoo.

I know there are a few skin applicable medications (i.e. Advantage), a friend has told me about a pill that the dogs can take to regulate fleas (i.e. Comfortive).

Any preferences?

[NOTE: I have a 13-year-old indoor/outdoor cat, so fleas are present in the house. Cats can be difficult to wash, particularly this one, so I often rely on Advantage for the cat.]

I use the topical Frontline Plus for my dogs and cats for flea and tick control and have never had a problem with either. I don't know if there is a "best".

I always thought frontline worked the best for both cats and dogs It is also nice that they can get wet between applications with out it washing off.
