Beauceron

Hi there. My wife and I just brought home our new beauceron puppy of 10 and a half weeks. She is the second dog of the house... We already have a two and a half year old female German Shepherd Lab.

Obviously we did a lot of reading and research before we chose the beauceron breed. Neverth less it's still a challenge knowing what to do in certain situations with this little tornado. She nibbles on everything in sight, not excluding my hands and feet.

Potty training is interesting. She's crate trained no problem. I take her out of the crate and we go outside and she pees. But she still hasn't figured out not to do it inside! After the lavish praise and treat that she gets every time she pees or poops outside, now she's taken to faking it! She will actually squat down and pretend to pee, and then stand up waiting for her treat. The problem is she still peeing in the house when I take my eyes off of her for 2 minutes.

Potty training takes time and accidents are to be expected at that age. She is too young and inexperienced to know to alert you, and by the time she feels the need to go she probably can't hold it long enough to get outside. It sounds like you are doing all the right things; just make sure to take her out often and regularly and keep an eye on her.

Welcome to the forum! We'd love to see puppy pictures :)
At this age you can't take your eye off them for a minute. She is still very young and they don't have very good control of their bladder. Take her out every hour, or half hour if that is what is needed. She will pick it up before you know it. You just need patients and consistency.
More like every 10 minutes.... but she is now able to pee on command, assuming she's got some.
