What type of auto-immune disorder does she have? Ours has had a neurological auto-immune disorder since she was nine, and has been on a low maintenance dose of steroids since. She is now fourteen. We have to watch high fat foods for her, as she has a tendency for pancreatitis, and low protein foods as she also has kidney issues. Its all a balancing act!

Hi,
She has Pemphigus a skin disorder, she has thick hard scabs along her lips and nose, she's also suffered from UTI's but is now been spayed. ATM she's on steroids and antibiotics, but am looking for a good quality food.

I have one of mine on a prescription hydrolyzed protein formula from Royal Canin. Not the same problem as what you have; he had a bout of inflammatory bowel disease that we just couldn't get under control. At the time we put him on it he was unable to handle high quality limited ingredient pet foods or even home cooked rice and meat porridge. I think I probably would have lost him if I hadn't been able to get him onto something his grumpy and paranoid immune system didn't object to. The idea behind hydrolyzed protein food is that the proteins are cooked down to the point where the immune system no longer recognizes them as allergens. It's an expensive way to feed, and it's the complete opposite of a "natural" food but as I said I think my dog would have died if I hadn't got him stabilized.

Since you mention low protein, I wonder if something like the combined HP and kidney support formulation would work for him. Multifunction Renal Support + Hydrolyzed Protein Dry Dog ...
