I've had a plott hound mixed with a pitt bull for a little over 11 years now. I've honestly got to say that he is the most sensitive, caring, loving, sweetest dog that I have ever had the privilege to care for. It's been an honor, truly. So if you have a plott hound mix, please consider keeping them. I've never known love like the love reciprocated back to me from my dog! I never had any problems with training on account of how incredibly intelligent and his eagerness to please. The only thing I would have done differently would have been to socialize him more. I rescued him, even though I believe that he rescued me honestly. I got him pretty young and I don't know what his proir experience was other than it evidently was traumatizing to him. I'm a loner and because of that he's afraid of people, other animals and even inanimate objects he's not familiar with. I can do a controlled introduction and then he's ok. He was my first so I've had to learn with him. But I'd do it all over again. He's my son instead of my dog and I'll be devastated after he's gone! I've home cooked all of his meals and I believe that is why I still have him and how healthy he is. Whatever you do, please don't feed your baby kibble. There's a vet on YouTube I love named Dr Karen Decker. Please listen to her. She was a wildlife biologist before becoming a vet and knows more than anyone how to keep your dog healthy and happy. Sorry for rambling. I'm passionate about my dog
