Hey there! I was just wonderin' if anyone else has checked out/joined the online book club DogRead (on Yahoo), it has discussions about old and new training books, and you can speak with the authors! I may have missed out on being able to thank Grisha Stewart for her for her wonderful book, but I just went through my updates from the group and read some cool emails from her. :)

Also, everyone that is a member gets a discount on DogWise, an awesome website for dog/dog training/dog behavior books. :)

Hi Lisa,

> I'd like to thank you Grisha for this wonderful book. I started reading it this morning and it's turning out to be one of those books I can't put down.

Glad to hear! It's very reinforcing to know the book is being read and enjoyed. :)

> In chapter 2, your description of the clicker is spot on and I'd like to add something to why the clicker works on pg. 25. It doesn't carry any emotion behind the sound as our voice does. So if we're upset or stressed and telling our dog "good girl", it won't come across as a positive to the dog. The clicker is consistent.

I completely agree. Obviously it's still best not to train when we're upset. I also like to add verbal praise so that when the clicker is removed, there is still a history of reinforcement for the praise.

Only good things,
Grisha

Just read this in my emails too, i'm definitely going to write her something! It's so cool to be able to hear from someone as revered as she is. :)

Hi folks,

Sorry! I had New Years Day off, so I didn't stop by my computer today. I'll be
online for the next two weeks to answer your questions.

If you don't have the Ahimsa Manual yet, you can get it (ebook or paperback) at
https://ahimsadogtraining.com/store/proddetail.php?prod=MCH-0207

Use the code DOGREAD at checkout to save 10% on the Ahimsa Manual.

Only good things,
Grisha
