My puppy is 9 weeks old. The rescue predicted that he’s a Shepherd/Lab mix. After doing some research, I think he has signs of a brindle Anatolian Shepherd. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance!

The shelter is probably right as there are not a lot of Anatolian Shepherds running around loose and breeding labs. German Shepherd is a lot more believable.

Thanks for your input! I’m just curious where he would get that tiger brindle from. I haven’t seen German Shepherds with that look.

Labradors can carry brindle (there are pics of brindlepoint Labs), but I don't know if they have sable in their A-locus. Golden retrievers are often brindle behind their yellow, I've heard. Brindle is also common in bully breeds and sighthounds and there is a brindle breed in almost any breed group. But the puppy is probably mix of more than two breeds anyways.
