I have been slowly gathering vet nutritionist recipes to transition to home prepared food. I know this question has been asked multiple times but I'm still unclear. When you are given food guidelines based on the weight of your dog, is that for the entire day or each meal? I feed twice a day my 41 pound, 5 year old, pit mix. Vet would like me to get him down to 38. So if the recipe calls for example 8oz meat protein, 2 cups carbs, 1 cup vegetable is this each meal (2x daily) or 1/2 amount morning and half evening? Sorry if this sounds silly but I have read non-stop and I can never determine if a recipe is a daily amount or each meal amount? Please humor an old lady.

Normally it is the daily amount as some people feed once daily. You can check out this: BalanceIT.com it is a vet nutritionist site. They created vet approved recipes when my Savannah was in kidney failure.
