As I posted in the other thread, Alyssum's Wisdom Panel results will probably be back in a week or so. There is a bet running at my work as to what completely absurd breeds could show up on the panel. The cause of this fun game was up in the wisdom panel gallery section; a 60 pound dark brown dog, lab-shepherd looking that came up as mostly... Bichon Frise!

Thus the game was born, and I invite everyone to join in and add more absurd breeds, or choose which one you think is the most delightfully ridiculous.

Currently in the running are:

Mastiff
Deerhound
Petit Basset Griffon Vandeen
Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever
Dalmation
Basset Hound
Doberman
Rottweiler
Akita

And because I secretly have two dogs in one, a reminder of what she looks like.

Alyssum The Shaved version:

Alyssum The Fluffy version (taken just now, after her bath):

TorachiKatashi... You're not alone. I keep reading it wrong too. Read the username as asylum mom. Sorry!!!

Anyway... How about bulldog. That seems very "likely".

For my sake, I hope your test is right but I guess we'll see.

Her name is definitely a chronic problem, but so is my last name! She often gets called by my last name (Duke) and people ask me why I chose a boy dog name for my girl dog.....

cocker/poodle
We figured on those, of course. :p But we're betting on outliers. Like some of the ridiculously obscure breeds that sometimes pop up on these panels for dogs that look like mixes of very common dogs.

Alyssum DOES have some third breed in there. She is not 'pure' cocker/poodle as her ears are very very small. Terrier/shih-tzu type small.

Whippet, obviously! Unless she's an Irish Wolfhound (miniature version, of course!) - those two are so easy to interchange. Don't listen to my bf here, he says she's a Puli. ;)

With her super deep chest and insanely long legs... I might actually believe whippet. :p Not so much with the Puli, though even that might explain her amazing ability to produce dreadlocks on her ears and tail, even with twice daily brushings.

Hmm, looking at her - she has got to be a St. Bernard/Border collie mix!

My money is on Saint Bernard with a slight bit of Great Pyrenees!

And being completely honest, I might even see some Yorkie.

Well... the results came in...

So.... As grandparents Alyssum apparently has...

Cocker Spaniel
Maltese
Chihuahua....

And Shar-pei. :ponder:

I can sorta-kinda accept the other three, but shar-pei? And no poodle?

Others listed as "potentials" without any real confidence:

10% Kerry Blue Terrier
6.5% Brussels Griffon
6% Saluki.....
5% Russel Terrier
5% Westie
