Our puppy Chili is 12 weeks and is doing great with training outside, we just recently took away the pads in his playpen and he holds it well and is barking when he needs to go out. My house is an open floorplan with more carpet then hardwood so we normally have him in his playpen in our foyer on the hardwood or in the kitchen on his leash attached to his crate, we do let him out on the carpet to play after potty.
I feel like I need to give him a longer line in the kitchen since it's closer to our carpeted family room where we spend the most time but I'm wondering if this could be dangerous in anyway? Any other options for allowing more freedom and to be closer to us without allowing carpet access? I don't have any way to gate him in the kitchen area since it's fully open to the family room. I don't want him to feel alone
Thanks
