Anyone have any experience training puppies(11wks) for agility? I have done agility in the past, in the backyard for fun, but my previous dog was full grown when I started training him. I know she is to young to jump, but is it ok to introduce her to the other obsticles?

I can ask my obedince trainer for you. After I am done I'm going into agility with my 5 year old border collie cross. My trainer breeds and shows whippets in agility. I will ask her saturday for you and reply again then if you would like me to.

You should never ever train such a young pup for agility at this age. Its no good on their bones while they are growing. You need some form of dog obedience before you can do agility. I would start out with that first, get the dog use to commands and hand signals. They will start you off with poles on the ground for jumping, put you through tunnels, but no major stuff.

You can carefully! No jumping, not much as far as weaves, contacts at a low height (starting on the ground). Basically what you would work on with a pup is getting them to work with you. Come to hand, super recalls, directional work, and getting used to walking on odd surfaces. Nothing too strenuous.

Ok I would love to train my dog agility, but she is about 15 months old. She has been through and graduated all obedience classes.( beginners, intermediate, and advanced) I just don't know where to find the classes for agility in my area.
