Animal Planet has been a delightful family channel since it first debuted. Over the past few years, we have enjoyed the insight of renowned animal behaviorists and positive trainers. Their hit show "It's Me Or The Dog" focuses on the positive side of training, and the star of the show, Victoria Stilwell, makes no effort in hiding her disgusts of trainers who use choke chains, prong collars, and other old school dominant techniques when working with dogs.

Well, Animal Planet is about to take a contradictory step backwards by promoting a very unskilled and abusive dog trainer who goes by the name of Vladae. He calls himself the "Russian Dog Training Wizard" and claims to have invented a dog language called "Doglish".

I had the displeasure of seeing Vladae live a few days ago at the Pet Expo in San Diego. I can testify that his treatment of dogs is down right cruel.

Animal Planet should not be promoting such dog trainers. Emily Larlham (kikopup), Pamela Johnson and Nicole Wilde are just a few of the well known dog trainers who have taken the first step in banding together to prevent Vladae from having his own show.

Will you please join us in this effort to prevent bad, abusive trainers from having world wide exposure on Animal Planet by signing our petition?

Animals Petition: Animal Planet: Stop Promoting Abusive Dog Trainers | Change.org

Please pass this on to everyone you know. Let Animal Planet know that we do not condone abusive dog trainers!

I just sat and watched a bunch of his videos and cannot see a thing that is abusive. Even the collar that he puts on the dog, he does not use it in an abusive way and could do the same thing with an ordinary collar as he is using his voice to stop the dog from jumping, not jerking it around with the collar or anything.

He gives the dog treats when it behaves so what is abusive about him??? He is actually quite entertaining to listen to, a bit of a "nut" but could not find anything where he was abusive.

Why use metal spikes in the dog's neck to do this? Just awful. I'll say this though, he clearly cares about the dog and thinks he's doing the right thing. He's got a strong, friendly looking personality with a really likeable quality. If he gets on tv he'll be a huge hit and there will be a lot more of these methods used. :(
