We recently got a young dog and notices she reacts really weird while licking herself...she will start cleaning her area and her legs will start leg paddling, and she looks like she is having a mini seizure. Enough so that she can't continue to lick, then will start again and the same thing happens. There is no drooling or loss of consciousness, and lasts maybe 4-6 seconds my husband thought she was orgasming ?, I'm pretty sure it doesn't work like that... any help would be appreciated. Please tell me this is normal!

Dogs that have allergies sometimes react badly when licking themselves because it itches so bad or it may hurt. If she has healthy skin without red, raw or scabbed patches then it may be a slight neurological issue that throws off her balance. I have a cat that had Hydrocephalus when young and she can be a little clumsy, paddling her legs to flip herself upright and falling off the bed.

Hope this helps : )
