It started about 2 months ago, my 14yo Pomeranian "screeched", then continues normal like nothing was wrong---Occurred About once every 3 weeks.
About 2 weeks ago, The "screeching" went to once a week.
Went to every other day.
Now seems every day now.
We think he has screeched while standing still

During this time we looked at other variables: his harness. Maybe it was a twist and it will go away.
He still runs around crazy, goes for short walks about 5 times a day. Still hopping up and down a bed about 2 feet off the ground

But we realize now he has an issue that needs intervention.
Any suggestions hints what it may be? What we should be thinking?
Appears to be his front leg which also includes his front paw, which includes his shoulder blade.
He will be going to a vet. Vet appointment is 2 weeks away, the earliest we could get him in.

Maybe a sprain of some sort. Or something in his foot. Too bad the vet could not fit you in earlier since the dog is screeching.

Going to check his paw.
We are thinking a sprain of some sort.

About a vet. I live in a rural area where there is about one vet for 10000+ people. 2,sometimes 3 weeks time to get an appointment is the norm. None of the vets have off hour emergency hours.

I see the problem you have. Too bad you can not find a vet in a different location.

He really needs to be seen by a Vet sooner than in two to three weeks. Can you get to an urban area where Vet availability might be better?

Tonight when he screeched, he was sleeping. He naturally movers alot when he is sleeping
He got up, he had the lower part of his leg tucked in. He walked like that for about 10 yards then returned to walking and walking fast as he followed me to the kitchen..

Does it sound like something almost obvious? A sprain?

Going to just show up at the vet with him tomorrow
Should i expect an xray cost?

EDIT: I did some searching and found 'Pomeranian are prone to slipped stifle, dislocated patella'

Good to see you are able to see a vet earlier than two weeks. Xrays depends on if the vet can feel a place where swelling is. But, then an exhaust could be taken to pinpoint the exact location and extent of the injury.

Screeching

Hi. Awww poor little guy. The absolute first thing i would suggest is to highly limit his mobility. I would think you dont want an injured dog jumping up anywhere. Even 2 feet is too high for the little guy. I learned a lot from our beloved spaniel we just lost. One time he sprained a paw. The vet took an xray. There was no fracture. BUT, an xray will not show a soft tissue injury. The vet felt around and narrowed it down to an area in his paw, after searching up and down his shoulder to see if the injury was farther up. So the vet bandaged it. Gave us a used clean open IV bag to put his paw in when he went out to do his business. And when we took him out it was on the leash for ten minutes. Then back in the house into the crate, coming out for meals. Water available in the crate. We went to the vet weekly for a bandage change. It took about 8 weeks to heal. And because we minimalized his acticity he was able to get better. Make a full recovery. I also iced the area a couple times a day for about five minutes each time. I also took him to the chiropractic vet for an adjustment. I know for myself, after an injury, the chiro can realign everthing. Helps with the healing.
Same works for the animals. Preventive is a lot easier on me and my wallet.

Good luck.

Thanks for asking

I was un able to get him 'in' at the vet.
The vet went on vacation for a week, just getting back today.
Good news is my dog is not screeching, about a once in the past 5 days compared to every day. Hopefully its a strain.

As i mentioned, vets are few in my area for alternatives.
Anyone can PM if they want me to elaborate on that.
