When to neuter - for males

I think it's a neuter for the males. When can they be neutered? Is it when they finally grow a pair? right now he has a furry lump but no distinct jewels. Do they have to hang down before he can get them removed?

I had my two male bunnies done and they had to see them to be able to remove them.

Crio's Chili was neutered at the shelter at 5 weeks, so I'm pretty sure they can do it before they show up. Generally vets want to do it around 5-6 months..

They can be neutered very young but it's apparently a more invasive (and therefore more risky) operation because the testicles are inside the body. Personally I wanted to wait till Synnu was at least a year old - and in fact, he ended up being 'done' on his first birthday! I am of the school that feels the dog needs to have done all or most of his growing up before they have the source of testosterone removed. It's a controversial topic with differing views though. Do as much research as you can and then book him in to be neutered when you think it's best for him given his age and breed.
