The place requires them to be completely vaccinated, but there's no way that a 8-9 week old puppy can have all of her vaccinations. If they're letting her in, then one could assume that they also let in other pups that haven't finished their shots either...

Oops, sorry for not clarifying. With puppies 5 months and under they, like you said, are obviously not vaccinated to their entirety but the facility stayed on top of making sure they are vaccinated within the standard vaccination schedule. So for example, Nala at 8-9 weeks had to have her first DHLPP booster before being accepted. IMO they were pretty strict about me having them UTD so I had a pretty good feeling about the place. When I called to book them to get boarded they let me know once Nala is 6 months they will no longer accept her until she gets spayed. Thankfully she gets spayed tomorrow so it's not an issue for us. Does that make more sense?

Oh ok, thanks for clarifying! still not something I'd personally be comfortable with. I'd be concerned that another young puppy would bring something in before he was done with his shots!

And that's completely understandable, everyone has their own comfort levels I had not thought of that at all at the time, she is my first puppy and I honestly knew close to nothing about owning my own dog until recently lol. Now I know better and can totally see how the situation is very questionable. My mom has a very "it's whatever, don't worry, they'll be fine" kind of attitude with our pets so that probably had a big part in some of my pre-mature decisions too :P

I'm going to echo mjan. If you find a daycare that gives you confidence about stellar care, then I think it's a great idea for puppies as well as older dogs. Cobber was going to his daycare at 9 weeks. Just like the puppy classes we attended, he was required to be current on whatever shots are appropriate for his age. So, yeah, he didn't have rabies for awhile, but every time I took him to the vet for a puppy booster, the daycare got a copy of the receipt. I had no qualms about him getting sick because the daycare owner was so careful about all the dogs there and about making sure the right size/temperament/energy-level dogs were together.

When I get my 2nd pup in a few months, she'll be going to the same daycare as Cobber provided she passes the initial assessment by the daycare owner. I think it's a marvelous place for the dogs to become socialized and get out a lot of that puppy energy
