We are getting an english mastiff puppy at the end of july and begging of august. . He is the family's dog but he is part mine. He is a brindle male and he was born on june 16th. He lives only 2 hours away from me so I can go visit him.

Congratulations
I have an English Mastiff Puppy as well.
One suggestion though, your pup will only be 6 wks old
at the end of july and that is a little young to be leaving his home. Some people think because of their size that they can leave but they need to be there just as much as any other breed. I hope you reconsider taking him home home so early. Allowing him to stay longer will only make your life easier in the long run.
Mastiffs are very sensitive creatures. Do you have other animals? Are you planning on taking him to obedience training? Perhaps you've already researched their special needs in terms of feeding/nutrition but if not, at least you have some time to now
They are truly one of my favorite breeds and with a little work
they can be a wonderful companion.

I can PM you a link to a good Mastiff Community if you like.

Thanks we have had 5 of them in the past and we might wait till the 2nd or 3rd week of august. We might take him to training classes. That would be great if you could pm.
We have 5 other dogs and two house cats plus we live on a horse farm and have other small house pets.

Congrats!!! I would love to have a mastiff someday!

Just one thing...
And I'm not trying to be a party pooper...
I just wanted to say that in many places in the US (not sure of other countries) it is illegal to sell a puppy before 7 or 8 weeks of age. You may want to check on that.

Congrats, but I have to re-iterate, if he is only going to be 6 weeks you may want to consider leaving him a bit longer as he still could use 2 weeks of lessons from mom.
