Refuses to walk

Nearly.

My 18 week JR pup refuses to walk when I take her out. I've tried enticing her with treats and had another dog lead the way.

She gets excited about going out, but once she's out of the gate, she digs in and won't walk. This happens at my place or my partners. When she's at the park or field she's fine and coming home she's fine.

She's 4 and a half months and this has been going on for weeks

Her instinct tells her to stay near her home, where it's safe. Try taking her out in front of the house for a few days and let her explore as far as she wants (treats and play will help), slowly expand how far you take her till she understands that walks are fun and safe.

Been doing this, it's getting worse with her.

Getting harder to get the lead on her and now I have to carry her to the front gate.

Once through the gate she refuses to move or do anything.

I'm not using any force, just trying very gentle persuasion and treats, but she's ignoring the treats now.

Something is scaring her, or has scared her, and even though you think you are not pressuring her, from her perspective she is probably feeling a lot of pressure.

It might help if you can figure out what she fears.
Meanwhile, you'll need to find a place in the back yard where she can go potty.

Give her a week off from going out the front yard, or where ever she has been fearful.
