Frankie is actually almost 8 months now that I think about it.
Just over the past few days he seems to have lost interest in his food. I wasn't sure whether it was the sudden change in weather (we had gone from it being fairly warm to a quick drop in temperature) or something else.
Apart from the lack of appetite, his behaviour is pretty much the same. He's been a little more snuggly, but I would assume that would be because of the sudden chill. He still has plenty of energy, he looks alert and his poops still look the same.
I did a bit of a search and most advice was just "make sure they're not sick, take them to the vet" which of course I will do if it continues and he looks like he's not doing well.
I was thinking maybe he's just hit a period where his growth rate is slowing a bit and food isn't as interesting? I did notice when he had his growth spurts he just seemed to be forever starving, so for about a week and a bit, I would pretty spend the whole time just shovelling food into this apparently hollow dog.
Normally he gets fed in the morning before I go to work, when I get home, and late at night before I go to bed. At the beginning, I was taking his food bowl up if he hadn't eaten all of it after like 15 mins, mostly so it wasn't there to make a mess of later, but there was no need for that really, because he would basically inhale his food and there wasn't anything left to take up.
I was considering changing it to 2 feeding times instead of the 3 because he's getting older, but I wasn't sure yet.
Last few days I've just been leaving it down so he has access to it whenever, because I don't want him to not have anything if he does decide he's hungry when it's not there. At this stage, he last ate yesterday. I don't think he's starving or anything, just wasn't sure if it was a growing thing.
