Puppy hates harness suddenly

After 8 weeks of wearing her harness my puppy has changed her mind about it. I leave it on her often because being a puppy she always has to pee and i live in an apartment. Now when it is on her she just chews at it in the chest area and rolls on the ground fighting it. I wait until she stops fighting it to take it off of her but she keeps getting her teeth stuck in it. Sometimes she will wear it for an hour or two and then start attacking it. sometimes its right away.

I'm wondering If I should get a collar, but I am worried about hurting her neck if she sees something and decides to run at it on leash.

Thoughts?

It sounds like she never really liked it to start with.

Also I wouldn't leave it on her constantly-she can chew on it freely then, or it could get caught on something and hurt her. Plus, you'll find it actually makes training her to love her harness HARDER.

Is it getting too small? Maybe it's rubbing her in an uncomfortable way.

She has never minded the harness. I took things slowly in the beginning and as I said it's been 8 weeks since I brought her home and she wears it most of the day until recently without complaint. She wears it a lot because as I said in an apartment full of carpet there is no let's wait for the puppy to get her harness on to go pee time. Also since she is never out of my sight when she is out of her crate I see no reason to worry about her getting caught on something.

I am now thinking that maybe the harness is too short in length from her neck to beind her legs even though it is not tight and has plenty of room to adjust larger around her.

Maybe try clipping it in front if it has a ring there. If she's still cranky take her to Petco and have her try a new one on. Maybe she needs a new one anyway.

Definitely make sure it fits properly, but honestly I wouldn't keep it on her constantly even if it's properly fitted...that has to be uncomfortable to wear SO much. Maybe a collar would be better for her to wear at least for potty breaks.

I guess to punctuate that she needed a new harness it fell off the hook by the door and she chewed threw the front strap while I was making breakfast. I'm off to buy a new one now. I'm also think about ordering one of these for quick potty breaks and eventually for to and from agility class.

I dunno, if she walks perfectly on a leash, then a collar for potty breaks would probably be fine. However, if she has any inclination to pull, lunge, or keep pressure on the leash, I would definitely stick with a harness. There are a ton of styles available, surely you'll be able to find one your pup is comfortable in.
