Oh, yeah...he's a DOG!

Every once in awhile I'm reminded that my little (becoming less little by the day) bundle of joy is, in fact, a dee oh gee DOG!
Like every time he finds a cat turd and chows down.
Or when he sneaks a horse "apple" from a fresh, steaming pile and trots off with it stuffed in his mouth like he just won the lottery.
Or his first time romping, digging, and wallowing in mud puddles.
Or just a few minutes ago when he came walking around the end of the house with the backbone of some critter in his mouth (possum-sized, I'd say).

I spend so much time fussing over his diet, health, training, and comfort that sometimes I forget that he's really just a dog! He's good at "keepin' it real" for me though! LOL!

I know how you feel! My little terrier mix is so smart, she feels just like a four legged toddler. I was playing with her today and realized that I rarely regard her as a "dog". She barely acts like one!
