New here with more than 1 question??!!

I have a 12 week old puppy. We think border collie mix, but will never really know. Rescued him at 8 weeks and he had kennel cough which cleaned up after the medicine. He is 135 lbs. Has had 3 rounds of shots and will get his last round with everything else at 4 months. Neither my husband nor I have ever had dogs before so we are pretty clueless. I have been reading everything here and sorry if my questions are repeats or dumb.

He has loose stools in the afternoon. We switched off high protein to puppy iams and seemed to work for a couple days, but he was bad again today. Suggestions?I don't want to try a new food as this is the third kind in 4 wks and think that may be part of the problem.

Chicken? How do u cook it? Grilled ok? Boil it?
Rice? Brown or white? How much?

Training treats? What do you use and how much in a day? I've been using his kibble with just a little cheese and some deli ham. He loves both of those but am afraid it is bad since his belly isn't the best.

Red eyes. could be allergies? Google says conjunctivitis could be to blame, but he isn't lethargic and is eating everything like normal. Other than a little wheezing and the stools he has no other symptoms

puking in the car. He gets car sick! Thought it was anxiety at first, but even a 5 minute drive makes him queasy. Is this normal. Will/when he get over this?

I just love him to death and am driving my hubby nuts with the worrying! Any errors of advice are welcome.

Welcome to the forum.

Changing his food that often could be the problem. You can try adding a teaspoon of pumpkin to his food. It is easy to digest and can help bind his stool. If you want to cook something bland just to get rid of the loose stools...boil white rice with boiled chicken is good.

Red eyes could be due to allergies, if they are really red and irritated I would have a vet check them out in case it is an infection.

Car sickness is normal for puppies. He will eventually out grow it. Continue the short trips so he can get use to it. Some dogs do better in a kennel when traveling so you could try that also..

Congrats on the new addition.
