Neekos first puppy class!

I'm very proud of my boy Neeko (13 weeks). My brothers rotti puppy scared him when they last met a few weeks ago, since she was double (or triple) the size of him and just too bouncy and excited.
We took him to the dog park last week and he met a cattle dog and a staffy, but we had to walk away as he was a little nervous. Though he wasn't as scared as he was with the bouncy pup.
So I thought with the bigger puppies today at puppy school he'd be really scared, but nope!

First dog he met was a red cattle dog, looked to be nearly fully grown and was so so cute and so smart (I may have fallen in love). At first he was a little nervous but still wanted to sniff. We kept walking away and coming back and finally he decided he wanted to play and kept trying to get at her.
Then we were standing next to an aussie pup who was a bit rough, but he loved it and just wanted more. And he wanted to play with all the big dogs, he's actually a little bit bigger then a couple of the puppies, and they were shy so I had to call him away since he was being too full on and scaring them.
Overall though he really enjoyed being around all the dogs and just wanted to play. First class though they are all on leash and not given time just to play (though they can sniff and play a bit before and after), in the next few weeks though they should be allowed to play more.

And the first thing we learned was sit, which he pretty much knows already but it was good to do it with distractions, and we started working on a hand signal.

I'm so happy he did well. I'm going to start taking him to the dog park more so he can meet more dogs, of course letting him have space if he needs it and supervising, watching him and the other dogs body language. But I think he's going to like other dogs as an adult, and he already loves people and kids so that's going well.

Sorry I know this isn't that interesting, but I only have one friend who would be interested in my dog stuff, and she can't have a dog right now and even talking about Neeko is hard for her, she gets so upset that she can't really have a dog in her current situation Just wanted to write it somewhere

I'm excited for you!! Classes are so much fun. They're a perfect way of getting a controlled environment with other dogs for socializing

I know, I'm so excited to socialize the hell out of him, since we never did that with the family dog Sparky. He's very reactive to other dogs and sometimes people. We've been working on it, but it's always been really bad and took a few years for me to find this forum and see that I was ruining my dog.

I'm planning on taking him to the basic obedience after this run by the same trainer, and maybe a few advanced classes, then joining up to the closest agility club. Something I've always wanted to do with my other dog but he's still too reactive and is also car sick so going any further than 30 minutes anywhere is hard. And all the dog classes are further than that...
