Need Help/Guidance for Two Puppies, GSD and Cairn Terrier

I have a 9 month old female German Shepherd puppy named Tess and just adopted a 3 month old Cairn Terrier named Maisie. I own a small ranch home with a good size backyard. My husband is in the process of installing a stockade fence, he already has three sides up and will have the last part up within another two weeks.

The two pups really seem to like each other a lot, although they play really rough with one another and it's the little Terrier who instigates it all. I'm amazed at the spunk and ferocity of the Cairn Terrier, she's not afraid of anything.

I have never owned two dogs at the same time, so this is all new to me. I am having problems with their feedings, with the new little terrier being on Nutro Max puppy food Chicken and Rice and Tess being weened off of Nature's Variety Basic Instincts Duck and Turkey and on to Canadae. My goals is to put them both eventually on Canadae. The thing is, Tess wants Maisie's food and will not let her eat it without trying to stick her head in to gobble it all down, she loves it and now won't eat her own unless I mix in a little of the puppy food. Maisie seems to like Tess's food and Tess doesn't mind sharing it due to her new liking of the Nutro Puppy food. When Tess was little, we were sure she was allergic to chicken but now, I'm not so sure. I have tried feeding them in separate rooms and in their own crates but it's not working out that well. Any thoughts or ideas? Would it be okay to feed them both Nutro Max Puppy Food and wean them off together on to the Canadae? Tess is a large breed puppy so I'm not sure if this is a good idea.

I have other issues I need help with but I will post them under another topic.

Sorry to go on and on, just wanted to make sure I added everything so you could get the big picture.

i had the same problem my 1 year old german shepherd was eating my puppy (collie x rotti) food, so i seperated their food dishes and sat in between when feeding them guiding letty to her food and fudge away from lettys food, it worked a treat, ive had letty since 11th of april and i dont need to stay in the kitchen with them anymore while they eat. As for not wanting to eat the food anymore, if the food dosnt get eaten take it away when the dog is hungry it will for sure eat the food lol

God bless you, I am off the wall trying to keep these two in line but I will try sitting between them, not sure if it will work because I've tried separating them in different rooms. The thing is, I have two very willful dogs..

Tess, the GSD, is getting so big and strong, she doesn't look like a puppy anymore, and although she has been trained, she is still a work in progress.....she doesn't always listen to me, although she is getting better. Maisie, the Cairn Terrier will not back down from anything, I've never seen a little dog with so much courage before. I read that they never back down from a fight, therefore a lot of them will get hurt, and I can totally see this in her....and she's only 3 months old.

Tess is pretty gentle with her but when Maisie jumps up and nips Tess's face, she gets mad and goes after her, but the little devil just keeps coming back for more. Did you have this problem with your shepherd and rotti/mix? If so, did they eventually slow down when they got use to one another. I know it's hasn't been that long for you though.

Thanks for the advice, I really appreciate it!

lol no they are wild together letty hangs off fudges face sometimes lol but fudge is great with other dogs and trains very easy so i taught him to use his paw to get her off and tell her no more, hes keeping her in line lol and if letty gets to rough i let fudge growl to let her know enough is enough if she goes back for more hell tell her again their pretty good at letting each other know.
p.s fudge dosnt always listen either lol sometimes he has selective hearing like when hes up on the bed and i sk him to come down he shuts his eyes lol
