My baby gets Car Sick after an hour?!?!

My 6 month old Doodle loves a ride in the truck, but after about an hour, she ralphs all over my back seat??

Is there anything that we can giver her to help with it or is a "time" thing that she'll have to outgrow?

All help is greatly appreciated!

My dog had similar issues except she seemed to get car sick only when traveling north. She eventually outgrew it at about 10-11 months. I think it's common is puppies because their inner ears and sense of balance aren't fully developed.

You might try shorter, but more frequent trips so she doesn't begin to associate car rides with feeling sick. Make being and riding in the car the best thing ever - toys, treats, games.

You can also talk to your vet; we had great success with giving Katie dramamine before trips. She only needed a few doses before she stopped getting sick. Not sure if it was a coincidence or if the dramamine helped break any negative association she may have developed.

Good luck!

Don't feed before car rides. Or you can stop for a bit and take a break, walk around, before she starts to get sick. She may eventually outgrow it.

Tigger has only gotten carsick once, as an adult, and it was on a windey road. My fault too for feeding him. We've been on windey roads before with no food prior and we didn't have a problem. He never got carsick in town though and he was fine on a 9 hour drive out of state (and back).
