Thanks

They ARE very cute. If we find them both loving homes and enough donations through Romanian Animal Rescue to transport them back, then I'll probably still get a mioritic. If not, then the puppies will come with me, I won't be getting a mioritic now, and I'll keep one pup and put the other one up for adoption.

Looks like they are best buds already , that is going to be a hard choice. I don't envy you the job, I don't know that I could make it. They are just adorable. Good luck

Some info on the stray dog massacre to come:

100,000 stray dogs facing slaughter on the mean streets of Bucharest, Scotland Herald writes

Notice how HUMANELY PUT DOWN is in quotations.

Oh, and I've decided to put the puppies up for adoption through a German rescue...they're going to Germany in June! Here are pics of some more lucky ex-Romanian strays that have found homes in Germany via the rescue:

wow that is very sad (the slaughtered part). I hope one day other countries (who dont already) can humanely deal with their stray dog populations and even one day enforce laws which will help cut back on that issue. We in the U.S. have a long ways to go as well with implementing laws.

Just to remind people of the numbers here in the USA FROM THE HUMANE SOCIETY
FOUR MILLION cats and dogs—about one every eight seconds—are put down in U.S. shelters each year. Often these animals are the offspring of cherished family pets. Spay/neuter is a proven way to reduce pet overpopulation, ensuring that every pet has a family to love them.

I cannot read German but these pets look happy lol

Is this a common thing in Romania? To send strays and homeless pets to other countries for adoption? I ask because the ones you rescued are going to Germany. Is adoption in Romania few and far between? I hope this is considered staying on topic since it has to do with shipping dogs from one country to another and its in regard to the OP
