I feel like an expectant father!

If all goes according to plan I should get my puppy in late July.
& as time nears I'm getting very excited
I'm not to the point of buying puppy toys or anything like that yet, but of course I do read in books & on-line about my breed & constantly think about the fun I'm gonna have with him.

I wonder if its partly because I never had a child or if this is normal?
I've never had a puppy from a breeder before, they have always come from the pound & just hoped for the best.

It sorta feels like my wife is due in July. LOL!

I'm suppose to get 1st pick of any males she might have ( if Any )
Her last litter had none.

lol, I've never had to wait more than a day or so, but in those days I did have jitters yes.

Congrats!

I got my pup on a complete and total whim. One day I was like "I've always wanted a puppy....I really want to get one." The next morning, I woke up, rolled over, and my boyfriend was on his laptop and said, "I found your puppy." We picked her up from the shelter that afternoon.

That being said, I've never had all the jitters and buildup and whatnot, but I felt a lot of that excitement when we got her. I've had her for 2 months now, and I'm still constantly on the computer reading up about dogs and stuff :P

P.S. Congrats, dad!!

Funny how just like an expecting father, I think about how healthy will he be
How big will he get ?
Will he be a handful or easy to train?
Will I be around enough to bond well when we bring him home?

you should take the time NOW to ask if you can have a week off of work :-) you will be pleased that you did... I had the first week with Zoey home and it was awesome, plus house training was easier

Trust me I wish I could but I've only worked 8 days so far this year...
& so I'm not passing up any work that comes my way.
Would of been great to have the pup home with me during all this time.... But it was not in the cards I guess.
Since I wanted a boy Chessie, I had to wait, I could of gotten a girl a couple of months ago, but held out for what I really wanted.
