Yup, exactly as LynneMarie has put it.

They normally start teething or losing their "milk teeth" (baby teeth) from about 6 months, but sometimes the initial teething (and not losing teeth) can start at around 5 months. So make sure your dog has plenty of toys that are sturdy and not easily destroyed (I find Kong-brand toys good for it) but also teething-time friendly. Also, keep an eye on their growth as well, as sometimes, there can be a few tooth problems with the adult teeth not coming in right, or baby teeth becoming retracted, which can cause pain and other issues.

That hasn't been my experience at all.

Mozart is a day short of five months and he only has a few adult teeth left to grow in, all his baby teeth are gone. My friend's pups (who are fourteen days older than him) had all their adult teeth a few weeks ago.

My dog's baby teeth were pretty much all gone by the time he was 5 1/2 months old, but he was earlier than average in his growth. He's a big standard poodle. Little dogs tend to mature faster than big dogs, and of course it varies.

Juno was 5 months and 1 week when she lost all of her baby teeth. She had her baby canines that were still intact though while her adult ones were coming in, so while she was getting spayed I had the vet just go ahead and rip them out.
Now she's baby teeth free! It's such a relief. It's painful to watch them try to chew with lose ones or when they have baby molars and adult molars.

Nola had all her adult teeth (they weren't full size, but they weren't baby teeth) by about 6 1/2 months. She had retained her baby canines, so during her spay the vet removed them

I was really surprised when my puppy started losing her teeth - mostly because she lost 5 or 6 in the span of two days!!!!! By the time she was about 5 months old, I think she had lost them all.
