well for one AKC is only a registry so what are the dogs? and the only ramification is an unwanted pregnancy and litter of puppies. Age has very little bearing as far as the male if he is old enough he can do it simple as that. If it is not your intention to breed why are they not spayed/neutered?
The only other problem would be if their is a sizable difference between the dogs as say a beagle breeding a chihuahua...clearly you can see the size of the puppies would put the dam at risk for complications and a c-section may be needed to deliver the pups..anyhow without more information thats all I can tell you

Hello and thank you for the reply. It was our intention to breed but wait one more heat for the stud to be over one year. Rest assured they are the same breed and all, and the breeding was desired, and both dogs are top quality.

Then I guess the only ramification would be an early litter if it was what you intended to do in the first place. A male dog once he has dropped whether 6 months or a year is capable of impregnating a female..Mother nature takes over and they do what they do with no regards to our time schedules.

A 3 year old female should be fine. However - breeding is still a crap shoot and so get medical care early if nothing else the vet has seen the dog during pregnancy.
However- due to his age, he uh may be shooting 'blanks' ( shall I put it that way) but not always.
What breed is this? Some breeds have more problems in some areas than others.

If you have to ask this then the dog likely shouldn't be bred.
