Camping with a puppy

My husband and I are going on our first camping trip with our puppy this weekend. We made sure the campground is dog-friendly and will be having our puppy sleep in our tent with us.

Neither of us have camped with a dog before so I thought I would check and see if anyone had any advice on what to do, bring or expect. Thanks!

We took Fearghas camping last summer and he had a great time!
Things to remember:
-Bring a first aid kit just for pup, include some vet wrap and maybe a muzzle just in case.
-bring an extra leash, collar, tags
-bring extra food and keep it in the car so it doesn't attract unwanted campsite guests
-toys...water toys too if there's a lake
-a long tie out...don't know about where you are, but here in Provincial parks, all dogs must be kept leashed/tied
-copies of all his vet records in case you have to take him to a different one

Ditto above

Also, before you go, research the contact numbers & addresses of the closest vets to where you will be camping.

Have fun!!

Thanks for all the tips! We had a great time camping. Dany did a great job and had lots of fun. The only time we had any issues was at night around the campfire. She was clearly afraid of something in the woods- maybe some raccoons or just the fear of the scary, dark woods in general. We just put her on our laps or in her traveling carrier and that helped a lot.

She absolutely loved the walks through the trails. We were very careful to not let her run through the weeds though as she has already had skin/allergy issues that required steroids. When we got back on Sunday, Dany slept all afternoon and early evening. We eventually had to wake her up to go to puppy training class.
