If you ask me once every couple months is to long, but that is me.
Thanks for the support LynneMarie. I have allergies and my 1/2 havanese 1/2 ****zu non shedding puppy is great and my 2 kids love her to bits. I am sensitive to the smell she gets and living in Oregon it is very wet and muddy. Thanks for the shampoo tips I will keep it very mild. I will try to up the brushing and reduce the baths to every couple weeks. She is only 3, she dries pretty quick I make sure to hold her in front of the heater while she dries.
Ilovedogs2, It is actually baby powder smell not flowers, thanks for checking and I do like a soft, fluffy, clean dog and so do my kids. She is happy and that is what matters. Thanks for your snarky concern.

I use K~9 soap from a natural soap maker in Florida. My dog never has the wet dog smell afterwards nor does he have fleas or ticks. I bathe him once a month maybe twice at the most. This soap (I'm reading the label) contains tea tree oil, Penny royal, Citronella and eucalyptus with grapefruit seed extract. It's 100% all natural. Theres no smell afterwards but a slight medicinal odor when lathering. Man does this soap lather well. I love getting my finger nails along his skin so I can feel any abnormalities ( Lumps ) etc.I use a washclothe with the soap on it in the ears for mites. If you have any kind of insect problems this stuff is the bomb. mybluedolphinsoap is the business search for K~9 soap. Best of luck!
