Talking Took in a rescue dog, happy but feeling overwhelmed

Hello all,

My name is Rae, my husband and I have recently taken in a dog that was headed to the shelter from its previous owner. I knew he wouldn't get a chance in any shelter (he has a lot of issues) , and he is so handsome and smart, I knew he would make a great addition into my little family.

So we have had Leo for about two weeks now, and he is making great strides in some areas and struggling in others (more to come in other threads on that). Leo is one handsome looking American golden dog! (I guess some people would call him a mutt or a Heinz 57). Probably a mix between a retriever of some sort and maybe a chow (pics in later threads as well) and he is about three years old.

About me, I am twenty two, I live with my husband and our daughter in a really old (but amazingly wonderful) house with our newest addition Leo, and besides spending way too much time studying dog training, nutrition, behavior and so forth (I occasionally take a bit of side work helping to train other people's dogs, or rather training other dog's people as I like to call it), I craft (knit, crochet, sew, draw, paint, almost anything you can think of), love to cook, read, strangely love to clean (yay ocd tendencies making me a tad crazy ), and just take care of my little family and my house.

Also, I am quite the talker! My current occupation as an insurance agent has made me learn really quickly to get over my shyness, so shoot me a PM, or an email and we can talk about whatever.

Thanks,

Rae
