New member w/rescue dogs

Hello, all, thanks for having me. I joined because I recently brought home two small terrier mixes from the local humane society and it turns out that "somewhat" house trained means, NOPE. One boy is doing well, the other will literally hold it until he gets inside, which is becoming some frustrating. I'm hoping to educate myself further here so that we can settle into a solid routine that makes sense to everyone and allows all of us to enjoy each others' company.

Welcome. There is a great house-training how-to pinned up at the top of that section. Follow it to a T and you'll be good!

Welcome! I understand the frustration, as I just got one that I was told was potty trained, but doesn't seem so.

This is a great place for advice! We also would love to see pictures of your babies!

Thanks for the warm welcome, I'll be sure to check out that sticky. I've had dogs on and off my whole life, but never taken in adults that are so poorly trained like this, so I'm really scrambling here - I know how important routine is for these little guys and I want to get it right.

They were, surrendered together. I run a rodent rescue and one of my cardinal rules is that no one lives alone if I can help it and I'd never break up a bonded pair. Same goes for these little fellows.
