New member, I want to learn

Hi there!
My name is Julian, and I'm an artist living in Montreal. Recently I've become quite interested in dogs. My wife is a total dog lover, and I'm trying to learn what I can, because dogs have been a really important part of her life. Even if right now we don't have one, that may change in the future, and I want to be a good human for him/her/them.

The community here looks amazing, and I'm sure I'll learn a lot from you, guys.

See you around!

Hey, I just saw there's a sub forum dedicated to dog art! I'll post some of my recent dog related pieces! I hope you like them...

Welcome to the forum! I love your username! I went by "Pixel" when I worked at a camp this past summer.

Hi! Welcome to the forum.

Feel free to ask any questions you have. We have a few members who don't have dogs at the present time, but are looking forward to getting one in the future, so please don't feel out of place since you don't currently have a dog.

All counselors are required to go by a nickname and I chose Pixel because I used to major in digitl/graphic design. So I worked with pixels a lot!

Thank you guys! You're awesome!
I've been looking around, and have to confess there's so much information, it's a bit intimidating...

But your words make me feel at ease. So I'll ask: I'm assuming different breeds have very different needs. What could be a good dog for a beginner? Is there such a thing? Am I over thinking it?

The thing is, I only had one dog ever, when I was like 3 years old. It was a puppy and he must have been sick or something, because he died the very next day I got him. I don't really remember him... So my history with dogs is as brief as it is traumatizing... I think I'm subconsciously scared of doing something wrong...

So, what do you say? What could be a good way to start?

Oh, I got it. Makes sense. That's the same reason for my username. Do you still create digital art?
