Need help with crate training schedule while home all day

We have a new mini-schnoodle puppy that is about 12 weeks old...while there are some great crate training schedules out there for working parents..I am a stay at home mom with 3 kids to run around...we are coming and going at all times this summer..we are on a feeding schedule and we are trying to housetrain...any suggestions? The only crate accident we have had was on the way home from the vet...couldn't stop...otherwise we get her up at night a couple of times (how long will that last?)...we have had her a week on Friday...I guess I just need a virtual hug and to be told things will get better...my kids were excited about the puppy but 12 hours a day of "puppy watch" is getting to them!!

Puppies are a TON of work. They really are, from what I have been told the more work they are as puppies the more satisfied you feel when your dog grows up to be awesome. I have a Cattle Dog, which would be like 5 of your dogs running around, lol. LOOOTS of energy. If I made it though the puppy stage so can you.

I think if you can get the kids involved in training your new addition it will help with bonding and energy of all involved.

I have been reading a lot since my first post...our puppy doesn't mind the crate and besides potty breaks sleeps in it all night...we kinda skipped the training process to get the puppy into the crate...my question is this...are we just lucky? or am I missing some training steps that may help us in the future? She probably takes 3 rest periods (no more than an hour) a day in her crate too...is this bad?
