Mancunian recently moved to Aus, hey!

Hey guys new to the site hope you're all good just introducing myself saldy dont have a dog as of yet but am hoping to purchase a British Bulldog in the near future first off just furthering my knowledge of the breed and making sure im prepared for a puppy and for all the things that come with owning a dog
Grew up with lots of dogs Rotties, Staffy's, German Shepards, mastiffs, one rescue dog Rhodeshian Ridgeback (probably spelt that wrong apologies) and two huskys that i can recall! My Grandma was never without a dog and was superb in training them they were the most obediant and gentle dogs ive ever been lucky to come accross and hope some of her natural finess has rubbed off on me
Mainly here to ask questions to be frank such as prices and health concerns what i should look out for when picking a pup what breeders i should look for British Bulldogs have a rep for being major vet bill bumpers and am hoping that maybe this is a myth or can be diverted with know how and picking the right breeder and pup
bit about myself Moved here from England a year ago my Dad's lived out here for 2 rest of my family back in England hoping to study and work eventually but have just settled down in our own place after renting with people so moved all around NSW and wasnt in one place for long
Rather shy and anxious still havent met any friends here but lucky have many to chat with back in england
uhm i think thats it im 19 and i also have a broken fullstop button and slash button

Hi! Welcome to Australia! How are you enjoying the heat What part of NSW are you living in? (If you don't mind me asking). I used to live in Byron Bay in the Northern Rivers NSW. Sorry to hear that you haven't made friends here yet, hopefully you will soon now that you're settled in one place Maybe you could find/join a local dog club once you get your pup.

In regards to the bulldog...I see so many poorly bred ones & with our heat & humidity, it is a major concern with their breathing, so just be really careful about that.

The heat is lovely sometimes too much last year i was astounded at how hot it gets, it was like being in an oven and from what ive encountered majority of people either dont have air con or its been broken for years!
The house we are renting is a big old house so it can keep pretty cool however the frontroom has huge windows and is always facing the sun so it boils up at the same time looks like its going to be uncomforably hot this coming summer although i had my doubts as the winter was bloody freezing ive never been so cold and i lived in England! But we had central heating and small houses next to each other here its big and empty but ive never had to wear my coat in the house ive been that cold till i came to aus haha
I'm living near Blacktown in NSW but ive lived all over firstly Wentworthville (which is currently in the news for that explosion that went off i actually used to walk between the hotel and the building pretty much everyday scary) Parramatta Quakers Hills and now here in Seven Hills

And yeah thats one of my worries my dads really set on if we get a dog its a bulldog he did want to get a cat as hes more a cat person really but he loves dogs too the reason why i joined the forum was to get to know everything i can about the breed and get people with dogs to tell me their opinions on the matter so i can make a solid decision
