I responded to your other post, too.
I understand you wanting it ASAP, but I have learned with my puppy that almost nothing happens that way, LOL. You are in the company of some VERY knowledgeable animal lovers. I have no doubt that they will give you mounds of great advice. But it will probably take some time, too. Don't lose hope!
As far as my own experience, I crated Pepper until he was fully potty trained. Now he only goes in his crate when he wants to, or when I need to keep him away from something, like the evil vacuum monster
He has always slept with me. I put him in my bed with me from the first day that I brought him home. Other than that, if I was not able to pay VERY close attention to him (i.e. able to keep him from pottying on the floor or getting into something dangerous) he was in his crate. When I left for work, I put him in his crate. I came home on lunch and gave him a potty break, fed and played with him, and back in the crate he went when I had to leave. When I got home, another potty break and then he was typically not crated again until the next morning, unless I had to leave the house for something. I tried not to crate him too much, but I did not let him have free access to the house without my supervision until recently. It worked for me. Pepper is VERY good when left home alone, and he has all but stopped whining when I leave the house.
