I'm New Here

I thought I might take the time to introduce myself. I have joined only today, but I know nobody on this forum, nor the entire layout of the website, so I thought it would be good to get aquainted and get some opinions.

My name is Emma, and I am currently sixteen years old. I love animals. I've always adored animals, but had little choice in matters regarding mammalian animals in the house. I grew up with a Springer Spaniel who was so spastic and jumping on me he had to be sold when I was about five. I fell in love with a ragdoll that I had until he died at nine years old. About five years ago my mother picked out my best friend, a Cocker Spaniel named Marina. When my mother left us last year I grew even closer to her, and began to love dogs even more. Two years ago I got another ragdoll, who wasn't exactly sharing the bond with me my former did. I've managed to convince my father to get another dog, at the expense of this cat (we also have two rescued kittens outside), who we will give to my mother. I want a Dalmatian, because I love them so very much. I have three snakes, that my father says don't bother anyone, but I need a dog that would be social to fit in with my current dog, and a sweetheart, female.

I've done so much research regarding dogs, and I've seemed to have been going in circles--however I've loved Dalmatians for years and years and love their intelligence, their loyalty, and their spots. In preparation I've been training my dog now. She's a sweetheart, and would never want to hurt anyone . I'm training with heeling right now because she cries and wants to play with every person, dog, or car that passes on a walk. I'm also training with the 'leave it' command, the 'quiet' command, etc. She's very smart and a quick learner, and on the third day of this it's going well.

I'm having some trouble finding a local breeder, but I'm convinced all will go well. My father is set on a breeder because he doesn't trust that the dog won't be mixed breed or inbred, and he wants a normal-sized, sane dog. I also feel to say that I have a muscular dystrophy, and the doctors always want to remind me that it's getting worse. I've been doing equestrian, English riding, but I've put that on hold for my college-level credit classes in school. I'm a junior now, in APUSH, AP English 3, and AP Bio, as well as Latin and French. Math is something I'm terrible at. Lately I've really been loving my dog, and since my mother left us we have really bonded (she's very submissive, sweet, and sleeps right besides my bed at night). She /is/ lazy, though, and sometimes fetches--she normally walks a few feet then lays down, but we're working on getting her more in shape, and I'm hoping getting a puppy will make her pop up too.

Any questions, please let me know. ^_^ Any suggestions, anything you feel is important.

Regards
Emma

P.S. I have attached some pictures of her. ^^ Taken yesterday. I plan to give her a bath today if I'm up to it (I'm not one for bathing all the time, usually just once a month and it's been three weeks), and I'm going to clip her as soon as my father buys a new set of clippers (he won't let me use the current ones for some reason. O.o) I know she's a bit rageddy, but I love her. =]
