Hello. I've been posting in the behavior forum already about my dog, but I figured I would introduce myself.
I'm the mom of a chihuahua mix. He's a brilliant little guy - very nervous and sensitive though. I adopted him. He's about three years old and his name is Willis, which is fitting because he looks like an old man. We are working on a submissive urination issue, but you guys have been super helpful. It'll take work, but it is already starting to slowly pay off.
I'm a PhD student. I'm a political science but my work is comparative (across countries) and focuses on policy. My research seems to be about mainly two areas of interest - health and welfare policy and the EU. It sounds boring I am sure, but I love the stuff I do and feel really thankful to have the job I do. I teach students and tutor athletes as well. I love teaching and advising. I have a couple of students I am mentoring and this summer I am an advisor to freshman and transfer students. It's a great job and allows me to come home from work and let my dog out.
This is my first dog on my own but my family has had several dogs over the years and I myself used to own and show horses, so training and work is not new to me!
Anyhow, I'll leave you with some pics of my boy. Any idea what the chihuahua crossed with. We are guessing some sort of terrier, but I don't really know.
