Hi, I'm Cathi from Indiana.
I am a stay at home mom to 4 girls. We got our first rough Collie, Beau, just before he was 8 weeks old. He is now 10 months old. I have been trying to convince my husband that Beau needed a playmate.
Well, today we brought home another tricolor rough Collie. His name is Jack. Beau and Jack adore each other. They both try to 'dominate' each other by mounting behavior. They have played all day- chasing, running, herding, barking at each other. Its like they are long-lost brothers!
Our Beau is about 26 1/2 inches at the withers and 72 lbs. By comparison, Jack is only about 24-25 inches at the withers and a mere 44 lbs! The poor guy needs to put on about 15-20 lbs. He is very skinny, but we will work on that. His coat is pretty rough and I spent two hours getting all the knots out of his ears. I'm sure with continued grooming, a bath and TOTW food, he will start to look beautiful again!
My girls love him and he is so good with them. Beau is thrilled and worn out and I have a new boy to love.
The kids love the new addition to the family.
Only the resident mini dachshund isn't too thrilled. She doesn't care for Beau too much either. He was always trying to play with her and got to rough. Jack fits the bill perfectly. I am so thankful for that young couple that saved him from the shelter and let us take him into our home.
