Hi guys!

Hey there!

I've posted a couple things in the training forum area, but thought I'd actually come round and do a proper intro.
I have a 7 month old Irish Wolfhound x Bull Mastiff boy, who is just the cutest and sweetest thing.
It's been really good to come on here and get some info, advice and suggestions to help out with making sure I don't stuff this puppy up! (He's my first dog - my parents had dogs when I lived at home, but I've only ever had cats before.) Some of the stuff on here has been really good inspiration too.
I'm pretty much new to this dog thing (especially all the finer stuff, like specific training techniques etc) so I'm super keen to soak up as much advice as I can.

And I must say, as an Australian, reading about the extreme weather (read: tonnes of snow!) and the troubles it causes with exercising and potty training pups has really made me think about the differences in raising dogs between here and the US. Just food for thought.

And here's my little man, when he was a couple months old, and just the other day.

Welcome. Your guy is adorable!
And yes, the cold weather and snow makes ALL things difficult, especially when it involves our dogs. I was visiting my parents in Illinois a few months ago and it was below zero degrees out the entire time I was there and it blizzard like the whole time..there was almost 4ft of snow when I left. TERRRRIBLE winter...
Be happy you are where the weather is nice Lucky you

Thanks guys
Frankie does seem to be a patchwork of mastiff bits and wolfhound bits Like a teenage boy atm - limbs everywhere!

I imagine inside would get fairly hectic exercising/training them over the winter! wow.
