Help my rescue has a red spot

Like the title says the pup I rescued has a red spot on her belly. Google results are a little ambiguous. Just wanted to try and get some info before I go rushing to the vet. Be kind with me this is my first time owning a dog.

It's a little difficult to tell from the picture. Could be an insect bite, could be a patch of eczema, could be the first sign of some sort of allergy. How long have you had your pup? I'm a firm believer in "better safe than sorry". If you are concerned, I would take your pup to the vet and get her looked at.

I've had her about a year. We took a LONG hike Saturday, and my girlfriend noticed the mark Monday. I'm thinking/hoping its just a bug bite. If it doesn't go away by tomorrow I'll call the vet.
