Cool Helloo

Hey everyone! I've posted here a couple times but I never intro'd myself lol.

Anyway.. I live in Michigan with my 10 year old Hovawart mix, Tiger
I go on Yahoo Answers under the name "Mutt" (I recently changed it to my real name, Mariah).. anyone from here go on there?

Also would anyone let me know the popular opinions around here on e-collars, prong collars, etc. and raw feeding? I've got my opinions on both already, just wondering what the opinion around here is?

Anyway, hopin' I'll love this forum & stick around for quite awhile!

Ooh I just remembered.. here is my Flickr photostream with pictures of Tiger on it! Flickr: Mariah -- Tye Dye Tyge!'s Photostream

Hi there. There's quite a bit on all those subjects - do a search to find them. I feed my pup on raw meat and bones. He loves it and seems to be thriving - and I feel it's the very best thing I can do for him as well as being the cheapest way of feeding. It's a controversial subject here in th UK though - with many vets being opposed. It's also a controversial subject on this forum as you'll see on the threads. I don't know much about the different types of collar though.

Welcome!
Most of us here do not use e-collars, prongs, chokes, etc. Most of our members use positive reinforcement and recommend clicker training.
As far as raw, I don't know how controversial that is here... I really haven't noticed a rift between raw vs kibble feeders.

Hi Cali. I'm not sure there's a rift, I just noticed when I looked at past threads there was quite some debate between one or two members about the benefits (or otherwise) of raw. It is an interesting subject and when I was looking into it, there are very strong views out there (on the web I mean) - for and against.

Raw is definitely a hot topic sometimes, depending on how you go about it, if your knowledged or not, and if you criticize other opinions on it.

We also have a few members who use prong collars, e collars and choke chains. Others are against or have no opinion on the matter. Its a well rounded community IMO

Thanks for the welcomes everyone

Myself I have been feed raw for 2 years, and use the prong collar, hoping I will not get talked down like I did on another forum lol.

Also would someone mind telling me about "Psst... Playing the tennis ball game? If so, you may want to know that the 4th letter on the name of the dog who has the ball is d." is about? a bit confused haha.

I agree with pawz, this is very well rounded community and nothing like the others I've seen either. Everyone here is much nicer, even if they don't agree all the time and their is not a raw vs kibble war that I have seen so far. I hope you like it here as much as a lot of us do. Oh and on the prong collars part, I personally am not really for them or against them. I guess it matters more why you use them and whether you use them correctly or not that matters more to me.
