Hello, everyone. I made this account a while back but never really used it. I guess I sort of forgot I made this account but I recently remembered and I want to use it more. So I decided to really introduce myself.
I'm Haley. My boyfriend and I recently (two weeks ago) rescued a collie/retriever mix who is around 7 months old. His name is Potter. He's the first dog I've had "on my own." I aspire to be a professional dog trainer one day and he's helping me on my journey. Down the road I hope to enroll in a dog training academy. Depending on finances at the time, probably either Karen Pryor or CATCH Dog Training Academy (if you have reviews on either, please share).
Here's a picture of Potter:
He's a cutie. Here's a little background on him:
I was the person to name him Potter because as a puppy he had what looked like a lightning bolt on his forehead. He was my sister's dog, but she was unable to care for him. He lived outside 24/7 in an open yard. His only interaction with another being was another dog. He'd only been to the vet once when he was seven weeks old when I took him. He was diagnosed as depressed by the vet and was really thin until I stepped in and offered to take him from my sister. He now lives happily with my boyfriend and myself, is being treated for whipworm, and is slowly building up his obedience commands. He's a good dog.
A little background on me:
I'm twenty years young and dogs are my life, but I do enjoy reading, netflix, and video games. That's a pretty good summary.
Anyway. Formal introduction. (: Just wanted to say hi, basically.
