I recently joined the dog forum.
I'm a retired letter carrier for the United States Postal Service and a drop out from vet school (UMass Amherst). I have been involved with dogs, horses for all of my adult life and most of my childhood.
Although, I have never been a breeder, I have worked at and for different kennels, specifically working and sporting dog breeds.
I have trialed/trained in obedience, herding and schutzhund.
I have been involved in shelters, rescue and rehab since college.
Currently, I am living in the middle of nowhere, and working at rescuing humans. As a volunteer, I run a foodbank, emergency food pantry/financial/medical services and non profit thrift store facility.
I miss working with the critters. I like the four leggeds waaaaaay better than the two leggeds.
The love of my life, Jack Wabbit aka Waboso, left me behind almost a year ago. Currently I share my live with Jibesik aka Stumpy, a rescued dog that ended up rescuing me. She is my service dog. I am not telling the breed because i am going to use her in the "guess the breed" game.
I am rabid when it comes to breeding. Both the human and the dogs need to earn the privledge. Making sure puppies will never be homeless or unwanted, should be a priority. If you are a responsible breeder you have a waiting list for your puppies, pure and simple!
