Hello from NY!

Just thought I'd also introduce myself and my dogs also, as it wouldn't be right if I didn't.

My name is Cassie, and I've pretty much grown up around Shepherds. The only breed of dog that was ever in my baby photos was a Shepherd. Since birth; there was Tasha, Rocky, Misty, Raja, and Dakota who all passed of either old age, or in Tasha's case cancer.

I do currently live with four Saint Bernards; but after the end of fall I'll be living with my dog Recon, who is a year old Black German Shepherd. He has incredible prey drive, he will notice a mouse or something without us even realizing. He has dug up a newborn rabbit nest; how he found it I will never know. He's took off into the field chasing something, and then we see a rabbit come out of the tall grass. It is incredible to watch. It's like watching a wolf in action. He has mastered catching mice; but the birds, chipmunks, and rabbits always get away.

Also, in February of 2013, I plan to welcome my first show potential Saint Bernard puppy. My main concern is that it's a male; as I find them much easier to work with. He will be out of Carli and Ranger; both with heads that I prefer, not too smushy like most of them.

I've been waiting six years to be able to start showing; and I'm glad the time has finally come. I was originally going to go with a long-time breeder, and was talking to them about the upcoming litter for a while; but after half a year with no response, I had to choose another.

As I am currently in college to become an all-animal vet; I will more than likely be taking a year off to raise him/her.
