Hello from Massachusetts!
Hello everyone! My names Nick and I'm new here. I found myself on this forum due to looking for like minded people to talk about dogs with! Currently I'm in school as a Animal Care major and work as a Supervisor at a Dog Daycare and Boarding Facility. I'm on here looking to hopefully learn more about training, behavior, dog sports, and just dogs ingeneral.
This here is my wingman Loki. He is a year and 3 months old and I got him a little over a year ago while looking for a dog at the shelter. Couldn't find any dogs I really clicked with at that point when my father, who was also looking for a another dog, told me about an accidental litter he was going to look at and there was a puppy in it he knew I'd fall in love with. Serval hours later my father had his dog and I ended up with Loki. Supposedly he's the result of the owner's sister's Labrador sneeking in with his female Pitbull while she was in heat. Though his siblings all looked like they could be "labrabulls" everyone I've met has always questioned with when it comes to Loki and most people seem to thing he has hound in him due to his behavior and build; longer bodies, nose always to the floor, he bays -_-, etc..
I finally broke down and order a DNA test after one of my professors, who's a dog trainer, said she's convinced that there's hound him after a semester's worth of him coming to class every week. Knowing now dog litters can have more than one father I realized there is a possibility that another dog could have slipped in with his mother while she was in heat so I figure why not test him. I realize that the DNA test are always acturate and that it won't pick up on pit bulls, but I figure it'd be interesting to see what comes back. Anyone on here have any thoughts?
