Just wanted to introduce myself and my dog, Jackson. Him first though.
Jackson is a German Shepherd mix, or as I call him, a German Shepasomething.
He's about 2 years old, but we don't know exactly. He was rescued from a pound in Atlanta on his last day by a kind woman who liked GSDs and took a chance on him. She already had another GSD, and at the time she and her husband agreed that they really didn't need another large dog in the house, so they started looking for a new home for him. I had somewhat recently lost a rescue puppy to Parvo, and I was looking for a dog who was young, but not so young as to be in danger of picking up the virus even with vaccines. I heard about Jackson through an email (at the time his name was BJ, or Buddy, or whatever they happened to call him lol, they hadn't really named him since they weren't planning to keep him) and went to meet him a few weeks later, and he came home with me.
He's about 75 pounds, and drives me nuts sometimes but I love him all the same. He has a very loud bark, so he's a nice deterrent for anyone considering breaking in lol. I'm not entirely sure what he's mixed with--he kind of looks like a German Shepherd with very tiny floppy ears. I've had some people suggest that he may be part Shar Pei, and others lean more towards Catahoula.
And now for myself.
I'm a 21 year old college student, majoring in International Studies and Spanish. I don't know what I'll do when I graduate in a year, but I'll figure it out then.
I love riding horses and have grown up with an assortment of animals. I love being outdoors, reading good books, and listening to good music.
