do not know if they need special owners, Killer is really well-behaved without any special training...He would play even with rabbits (we used to have one in our cottage and Killer was so excited playing with him!) Neither he would destroy things that are in the house, he is chewing only his toys! I guess that sometimes behavior is a matter of genes and character and it is not based 100% on the owner. But I love this breed so much! The thing that I really like is the fact that they are not aware of their size and they behave like large dogs!
Whatever it is-they sure are cute and it's nice to know some are a little easier Sounds like a wonderful dog

Is there really that much of a difference between US and European lines??? I suppose that there could be, but the thought just never crossed my mind!

I bet though that there are certain traits that both lines share. Every Min Pin I have ever met has burrowed under blankets, loved heat, and had an obsession with food.

On a side note, I wouldn't say that Penny is a complete terror. She is actually a very well behaved dog. However, without enough exercise and mental stimulation, she finds ways to entertain herself, and thats when trouble arises. She's too smart for her own good.

I don't know if that's true but I've heard that many breeders in Europe are trying to reduce the aggressiveness and calm down their temperament to make them more easy for companion dogs. Again I'm not sure if that's true....maybe it's just a rumor.

I hope it is true! I would love a more laid back personality in a min pin!
I haven't personally experienced any agression problems with Penny, but she tends to be a bit high strung. I would love for her to be more easy going! We're working on it! Lots of socialization and exercise helps.

Hello again...with not so good news...

Unfortunately Killer left us last August... He rushed into the balkony, he slipped and he fell down on the pavement.

We took him immediately to the vet, she took x-rays of him, he had nothing broken but there was internal bleeding.

She told us that if he would make it the first 24 hours, probably he would live...

He left his last breath on the 23rd hour... Me and my family were devasteted...For the first time in my life I saw my dad crying. He was holding him close to his chest and he wouldn't leave him.

We burried him in our cottage, in the place that he adored to be, playing with the cats and barking at the chickens.

I'm still not over it, although I've adopted a stray puppy, Carlos, who has really helped me.

My little one, I will never forget you, you were the sunshine in my life and you made me a better person!
